Canaan Smith, Maddie & Tae Show In Superior Still On For Saturday

Saturday's show at University of Wisconsin Superior will go on despite the explosion and fire at the Husky Energy Oil Refinery.

Canaan Smith, Maddie & Tae and Chris Hawkey will hit the stage at Wessman Arena as scheduled.

A press release sent out Friday morning also stated that the show would be dedicated to everyone who helped the community during Thursday's events.

First responders, members of the Red Cross and employees of Husky Energy are invited to attend the show for free. Complimentary tickets will be available to pick up at the arena beginning Friday from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. You can also pick them up Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. until the start of the show that night.

UW-Superior is also donating tickets to The College of St. Scholastica to thank them for giving students a place to evacuate.

A portion of ticket proceeds will also be donated to Superior Public Services and the American Red Cross.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Saturday with music starting at 7.

Wessman Arena is located at 2701 Catlin Avenue in Superior.
