My daughter Kylee is graduating from UMD in just a few days, YAY!  Soon, our college students will either be graduating or heading home for the summer.  That means that foot traffic around the colleges will be significantly reduced and it's a great time to get the Campus Connector Trail completed.  Here's what you need to know.

What is the Campus Connector Trail?  It's a 10 foot multi-purpose trail for non-motorized traffic that will connect Lowell Elementary school and other campuses down the Lakewalk Trail.  You may have noticed that construction has started this week along the north curb of College Street, between Junction Ave and Kenwood Ave by the College of St. Scholastica.

It shouldn't affect road traffic too much, two way traffic on College Street should flow as usual except for some temporary closures to move equipment.  Please be aware of flaggers that would be present to direct traffic when needed.  You may also experience some delays and slow moving traffic in the area.  What may affect you would be the parking situation.  There will be no street parking available while they are working on the trail.

You are asked to use the south sidewalk as the north will be closed, however side street access and the availability to get to homes and businesses will be as usual.  Workers will be on the job site from 6a-8p daily, they realize that's early and it's in a residential area so they will keep noise levels to a minimum until normal work hours.  The hope to have the trail completed by July 31st.
