Breakfast Club Live Blog December 20th

Empty Chair

Good morning, and welcome to the Breakfast Club!  It’s kind of a lonely club today, since Cathy is gone, so call in at 727-2105 and keep me company!

We’ve got our eye on a storm this weekend that could bring 1-2 inches of snow Saturday night into Sunday.  If you’re like me, you’ve probably got a family Christmas gathering this weekend, so make sure to drive safe.

Duck Dynasty’s family has come out in support of their patriarch Phil Robertson saying they cannot film the show without him, and they support his beliefs.   Meanwhile a bunch of facebook pages for “Boycott A&E” have been created.

According to TMZ, A&E knew about Phil’s views on homosexuality long before the GQ article was printed.  TMZ says they had seen this video:

Crack Smokin’ Toronto mayor Rob Ford said he’s going to give his wife money for Christmas, because “Women love money.”  What a classy guy.

Brain Teaser Question:

97% of this raw food is covered with bacteria:  Answer: Raw Chicken  (Seriously?  We didn’t already know this?)

Entertainment update:

Besides all of the Duck Dynasty controversy we’ve already discussed, there were a few new things going on.

Olympic god medal figure skater Brian Boitano came out as gay.  He’s been selected as a delegate for the US to the 2014 Olympics by President Obama.

CBS has announced that “How I Met Your Mother” will sign off the air with a one hour series finale Monday, March 31st at 8pm.

Katie Coruic’s talk show “Katie” has been cancelled as expected.

Ashley Judd release a statement criticizing the media for its coverage after a police report she fild regarding a tracking device found on her car went public last week.   Turns out the device was traced to a private investigator hired by Wynonna Judd.   Looks like they are in a feud.
