I'm not complaining, it's absolutely fantastic that they could finish the bridge work three weeks before their deadline, but had it been open yesterday we might not have been announcing the traffic backup due to another accident on the Bong Bridge.  Now, we can put that behind us and get back to our regular commuting routine.

Any accident is significant, especially on the bridge, but the accident yesterday on the Superior to Duluth side of the Bong had a much bigger impact due to the fact that the Oliver Bridge has been closed M-F during the day and the Blatnik bridge was closed, until today.

My co-host Ken has continually forgotten on a daily basis and still traveled to the foot of the Blatnik only to shake his head, turn around and head to the Bong Bridge.  You too?  Now, when you get to the Blatnik, you can proceed, it opens today, Friday, October 7.

However, if you are someone that frequents Garfield Avenue, note that the northbound off-ramp won't open the same time the bridge does.  They plan to do that later in the afternoon on Friday.

They have been working on the project since the middle of August, that's a long haul.  Your patience and support of the project is greatly appreciated.
