Blake Shelton brings a mellow, almost retro-hip vibe to his new single, "Turnin' Me On."

Shelton co-wrote the smoldering new single with Jessi Alexander and Josh Osborne, and the track employs an organ and acoustic guitar to create a groove that's almost reminiscent of a '70s light rock track, with a melody that's instantly catchy. Shelton delivers the song a bit differently than many of his hits, employing a little bit of a melodic pop vibe on a song that stands in contrast to much of his output.

The lyrics create a sexy urgency as Shelton sings, "She's turning me on, turning me on / Pushing my buttons like it ain't no thing / If I'm what she wants, she gets what she wants / The neon's buzzing when she pulls that string / Turning me on like it's her job / Sometimes I think she must get off on / Turning me on, turning me on."

He references girlfriend Gwen Stefani slyly in the lyrics when he sings, "She's Revlon red in the blackest night," as Stefani is a spokesperson for Revlon. Shelton has explored sexy themes in his music before, but rarely so forthrightly as "Turnin' Me On." His personal connection to the song will surely help it connect with his eager fans. No. 1 hits are second nature to Shelton at this point, and it's not hard to predict that "Turnin' Me On" may be joining that list later in the year.

Did You Know? Shelton featured Gwen Stefani's sons in his video for "I'll Name the Dogs."

Blake Shelton's "Turnin' Me On" Lyrics:

Her kisses taste like whiskey / Burnin' through my veins / She don't know how to miss me / She hits right where she aims / Baby's got my number and she's calling me up / Knows what she's doing with a single touch

Chorus:

She's turning me on, turning me on / Pushing my buttons like it ain't no thing / If I'm what she wants, she gets what she wants / The neon's buzzing when she pulls that string / Turning me on like it's her job / Sometimes I think she must get off on / Turning me on, turning me on

Knows how to set me on fire / She's always holding the match / And when my body's beside hers / There ain't no turning back / She's Revlon red in the blackest night / Lighting up the room in the world just like

Repeat Chorus

Once she gets it started / Man, it's all night long / She's the needle on the vinyl / Of a midnight song

Repeat Chorus
