Alan Jackson is a staple in country music.  But, if you think about it, bluegrass has been intertwined with the genre for years.  Ricky Skaggs, Patty Loveless, Allison Krause and even Dolly Parton are know for dabbling in bluegrass. In fact, Ricky Skaggs collaborated with Bruce Hornsby and just released a new bluegrass album called "Cluck Ol' Hen".

Alan Jackson's most recent trip to the top of the charts is bluegrass and he celebrates his 55th birthday with a number one!  Congrats, Alan!

According to nashville .com, “Blacktop” is one of eight songs Jackson wrote for The Bluegrass Album. Pretty good for a guy that's never had a bluegrass album before. I thought you'd like to see Alan in a different light, bluegrass style.
