My daughter has spent almost every 4th of July at the family's lake property with ALL her cousins and dad's family making memories and enjoying picnics, parades and fireworks.  They would often do a group art project that would allow them to make something they could wear to the parade.  This year you could do a whole ensemble with two DIY ideas!  It's easy, fun and you and your friends can match at your 4th of July celebration.

I'm giving this to you early so you have time to get the materials and make it before you go.  You could even consider having a 4th of July  fun-wear t-shirt making party!  Send me pics!!!!  Let's start with the shorts, you'll love this especially if you like the distressed look.

I think the shorts would be cute with a white tee, but if you want to go all out or if shorts aren't your thing, you could make a Fourth of July inspired flag shirt.

Cute!  I like the fact that with both projects you're not going for perfect, you're going for your personal style.  Isn't it a good feeling when someone says, "I love your shirt" and you can say "thanks, I made it!"
