Cathy Kates

Hi y'all, thanks for checking out my bio! I grew up in the country community of Wrenshall, attended church in Carlton and worked in Cloquet. I adore and respect my family. My husband and I laugh and run together (well, I jog). My daughter is in her second year of college and keeps me young and our dog Bauer is an overactive Schnauzer. I love shoes, Asian food, and trying new recipes. My dream (at the moment) is to be on the Big Bang Theory or the Ellen Show. I have been in broadcasting for 16 years and thank you for your friendship and waking up to laugh with Ken, me and the Breakfast Club. ~Peace, Love & Hugs

Is Your Favorite Toy In The National Traveling Exhibit Coming To The MN History Center [Guaranteed Memories and Smiles]

Remember these cute little bugs?  The Cootie Bug game was one of my favorites as a child, along with Parcheesi, Yahtzee and Life! (not a fan of Monopoly due to my crappy math ability, although it did teach me to make change).   But, everybody had their favorites.  "Toys" is a national traveling exhibit of toys making stop at the MN History Center.  They will take you back to your childhood and is something you're entire family will enjoy!

Combat Flu Season By Making Your Own Hand Sanitizer

It's cold and flu season (and has been for a while).  We heed all the warnings.  Wash your hands, cough and sneeze into your elbow instead of your hands and stay home if you are feeling ill.  Of course, people are also using an abundance of hand sanitizer, which makes your hands dry out.  But, I found one that is alcohol free that you can make at home from jill at onegoodthingbyjillee.com

Two Things I Procrastinate and Challenge You To Do By End of Next Weekend [VIDEO]

I would like to say I messed my kitchen utensil drawer up for the picture, but nope.  It WAS that messy!  My New Year's resolution was to just "do" when something needed to be done.  (Another way of saying "don't procrastinate).  I did two things over the weekend that I'm challenging you to do in your home by the end of next weekend.  Not to put anything else on your already full plate, but hoping that I give you that little push you might need.  Just like I do!

Go Healthy and Meatless with Eggplant Vegetable Pizzas

Ok, they aren't that pretty and my co-host Ken would NOT approve because there is no meat.  But, after my husband's doctor said we should be eating more fruits and veggies, I thought I'd give it a shot.  Although, the credit for this healthy alternative to pizza has to go to the makers of Ragu Pizza Sauce.
