Only a week after the tragic shooting at the midnight screening of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ in Aurora, Colo., another incident of gunfire has taken place at an entertainment event. A man was shot outside of or in the parking lot of the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion in Raleigh, N.C. on Friday night (July 27) as concertgoers were exiting Jason Aldean‘s show.
Breakfast TV will get a country injection on Wednesday, Aug. 15, as Carrie Underwood is confirmed to perform on ‘The Today Show’ Summer Concert Series. It was announced this morning (July 24) and confirmed in a press release from Underwood’s reps that she will indeed perform at Rockefeller Center.
Country cutie Kellie Pickler is a proud supporter of the troops. She is taking things a step further by appearing on the cover of the 2012 military issue of men’s interest mag Maxim. While Pickler has done several USO tours and has performed for the troops domestically, she gives the servicemen a little something extra to enjoy with her sexy spread.
Remember the rumor that former ‘American Idol’ winner Carrie Underwood was recording a duet with now-former ‘American Idol’ judge Steven Tyler? Well it’s not a rumor anymore, folks. The music director at a Boston radio station confirmed the good news that the duet will indeed appear on Aerosmith‘s new album ‘Music From Another Dimension,’ which drops in November.
Even an established artist like Darius Rucker, who has enjoyed massive success as both a pop artist with ’90s hitmakers Hootie and the Blowfish and as a legit solo artist on the country music front in recent years, can be a fan boy for a hot minute. Rucker tweeted a photo of himself with country legend Charley Pride after meeting the singer at the Grand Ole Opry last night (July 20.)
Days after the news that his “raise your glass” (well, cup) anthem ‘Red Solo Cup’ had gone double platinum, moving two million digital downloads and becoming the biggest-selling song of his career, Toby Keith tweeted that his new single ‘I Like Girls That Drink Beer’ will drop on July 24. He’s keeping that beverage-consuming motif going, ain’t he?
Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles is expecting her first child. Despite having a bun in the oven, the singer is still pulling double duty by playing shows and serving as a superstar mentor on the reality singing show ‘Duets.’ Nettles has had to perform twice every week, since she has always had two horses in the race in the form of J Rome and John Glosson, effectively d
Miranda Lambert and her girls in the Pistol Annies hit the road and slum it in a beat up, beige VW van in their super fun video for ‘Takin’ Pills,’ from their debut album, ‘Hell on Heels.’ We are left to wonder where they found that bucket of bolts — and how is it still running? It’s a relic and should be in the Smithsonian, but it gets the point across. Even though it looks like it’s on its last legs, it’s emblematic of the fact that living life on the road is full of surprises.
Country music darling and America’s sweetheart Taylor Swift dropped some big hints on her Facebook page today (July 9), eluding that big news is on the way. While she didn’t specifically say that the to-be-announced reveal is related to her new album — due out later this year — we’re speculating that it probably has something to do with that.
One club that singer Chris Young doesn’t want membership in is the ‘Bus on Fire’ club. In recent months, the likes of Jerrod Niemann and Lee Brice have witnessed their tour vehicles fall victim to fiery blazes. Young was almost among their ranks last Friday (June 30), when his vehicle caught fire in Charlotte, N.C.
Willie Nelson ought to change his first name to “Wily.” That’s because the pro-pot singer is smartly planning to either rent or purchase a home in the Netherlands in the next year so he can continue to buy marijuana legally. Local Dutch officials are planning to outlaw “drug tourism” next year, meaning that non-resident pot proponents can’t travel there to stock up. Nelson wants to skirt that problem, so he’ll pick himself up a nice piece of real estate.
Carrie Underwood is on a crusade. The ‘Good Girl’ singer, who made some waves in the press with her comments on marriage equality, which were both supported and chastised, plans to change the way country music is perceived in the U.K. She is also trying to help make the genre popular in the region. If anyone is up for the challenge of bringing country music into the spotlight across the pond, it’s Carried Underwood.
