Arcelormittal and the American Red Cross Give Away Free Smoke Detectors to Northlanders

The ArcelorMittal Corporation has teamed up with the Northland Chapter of the American Red Cross to help distribute a total of 100 free smoke detectors to area residents. They are hoping to highlight the importance of fire safety during what is typically a busy time of year for local Red Cross disaster responders.This should serve as a reminder to Northlanders to be careful with when smoking, candles and space heaters.
The FREE smoke detectors are available as of January 2, 2013. They are Kidde smoke detectors equipped with 10-year sealed lithium batteries. They will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis at the Northland Chapter office, 2524 Maple Grove Road, Duluth, and at the United Way of Northeast Minnesota at 229 W. Lake Street, Chisholm. Smoke detectors will be limited to one per family.
