An amazing new $300,000 baseball field, located next to the Harrison Community Center at 3002 West 3rd Street, had wheel chair athletes in mind when it was constructed. NOW, it’s time for the to YMCA to coordinate the Miracle League Team. Players and volunteers are needed and can even sign up to play in a “try it”game. There will be an informational meeting and a “try it” game tomorrow, Saturday, April 14 at the Duluth YMCA, 302 W 1st Street from 3-5p. A perfect time to see if this is a great fit for you and your family!
This league is designed for children with intellectual and/or physical challenges, many of whom are in wheelchairs. The rubberized field was built with donations, so wheelchairs can easily be navigated. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind in the area!
