Alan Jackson Announces 25th Anniversary Tour
Alan Jackson will return to the road in a big way next year. The singer announced his 25th Anniversary Tour on Thursday morning.
In addition, the Country Music Hall of Fame announced they’ll open an Alan Jackson exhibition on August 29, 2014. The exhibit will remain open until spring 2015. Coinciding with that, Jackson will be the HoF’s 12th artist in residence, performing at the Hall on Oct. 8 and Oct. 22.
The start date of the tour has not been announced, but all indications point to early 2015, running through spring. He’ll play two nights a week, likely Friday and Saturday night. Fans can also expect new music from Jackson before the start of the tour.
Is this a retirement tour? Jackson addressed that during his comments: “I don’t know what I’d retire from, I don’t work much now,” he said, assuring fans he’ll go the Willie Nelson route and play for as long as he can.
On Wednesday night Jackson received the CMT Impact Award after a tribute from Kacey Musgraves and Lee Ann Womack. He was clearly moved by the moment, graciously accepting the award. After the show he played for fans at the Stage on Lower Broadway.
