Throughout the season, the Minnesota Vikings had several players win various 'Players Of The Week' awards.  An even bigger award was just bestowed upon Adrian Peterson.

Peterson has been named the FedEx Ground Player of the Year after posting a league-leading 1,485 yards and 11 rushing TDs, marking the fifth time in his nine NFL seasons he has won the award.

Peterson was named the FedEX Ground Player of the Week twice during the 2015 campaign, following the Vikings 30-14 win over the Oakland Raiders in which he rushed for 203 yards on 26 attempts including an 80-yard rushing score and again following Minnesota’s 20-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons where he rushed for 158 yards on 29 carries and two scores.

While it's quite an honor for Adrian to win this award, it will also benefit others.  FedEx has announced it will donate $25,000 in AP's name to support disaster relief and a variety of humanitarian needs that the American Red Cross Minnesota Chapter provides.
