A Tearful Meredith Vieira Confirms She’s Leaving ‘Today’ [VIDEO]

Meredith Vieira confirmed this morning that she is leaving her post at ‘Today’ in June, ending weeks of rumors and speculation.
“After months of personal reflection and private conversations between my family and my friends, I’ve decided to leave Today in June,” she said.
“Time is one of those weird things. You can never get enough of it. It just keeps ticking away. And I know that I want to spend more of mine with my husband, Richard, and my kids, Ben, Gabe and Lily … I really hope to stay in the NBC family. That is my goal. It just won’t be sitting at the couch.”
Vieira will be replaced by ‘Today’ newsreader Ann Curry. Curry’s spot will be filled by Natalie Morales.
Vieira, who was reportedly considering an exit for some time, partially due to her husband’s ongoing health problems, joined ‘Today’ in 2006, as Katie Couric’s official replacement.
