We are getting down to just a few summer weekends before school is back in session and the air is cool and crisp.  So outdoor activity in the Northland is abundant!  Harold's Golf Fiasco is raising money in Carlton, people are nearing the last chance to camp and fish and the Air Show will "take off".  Many people are expected to attend prompting the Duluth Police Department to issue a traffic advisory.

The Duluth Air Show is this weekend with doors opening at  9am.  The entrances to General Event Parking Lots are on Airbase Road, which is accessible from Stebner Road, Swan Lake Road, or Arrowhead Road.

Entrance to the VIP Lot is from Cirrus Drive off of Miller Trunk Hwy 53.

Traffic exiting the event will be very heavy between 5pm-7pm. During these times emphasis is placed on exiting traffic flow and vehicle flow into the event area is limited.

General Northbound traffic on Haines road will be instructed to turn East on Arrowhead Road during event breakup, with the exception of motorists needing to get to the Duluth International Airport. There will be one northbound lane of Haines Road reserved for vehicles needing assistance crossing Arrowhead Road to access the Airport. Duluth Police Officers will be at that corner to assist.

Grinden Drive along the Duluth International Airport will be posted "No Stopping". That roadway will be patrolled and vehicles in violation will be tagged.

Motorists in the area of the Air Show should slow down, drive with care, and watch for signs, barricades, pedestrians, and Police Officers directing traffic.

Some parking in the Air Show Lot has been reduced because of wet conditions. Carpooling is strongly recommended. Parking will be allowed in the MILLER HILL MALL lot and free shuttle buses will run continuously to and from the Duluth Air Show. Look for the posted "Air Show Shuttle Bus" signs in the MILLER MALL lot for bus stop locations.
