Shooting In Duluth’s Hillside Neighborhood, Suspect Still At Large

I got the text early last evening that there had been a shooting in the East Central Hillside neighborhood.  Later, I found that it had been part of an aggravated robbery.  The suspect is still at large and the Duluth Police Department is asking for our help.

On Tuesday, August 19th at 5:51 PM Duluth Police were called to 7th Avenue East & 4th Street near the Whole Foods Co-op on a shooting incident.

Initial investigation revealed that at least 3 black males were fighting in an alley at 7th Avenue East below 4th Street. They appeared to be fighting over a bag the victim had. The suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the 21 year old Duluth resident in the leg and was last seen running eastbound through #4 alley with the victims bag. The suspect and victim were known to each other, this was not a random act.  The victim was transported to a local hospital to treat his non-life threatening injury.

Suspect's description:

Black male

18-19 years old

5’7” to 5’8” tall

Thin build

Wearing a white t-shirt and black pants with dark shoes.
