7 Reasons This Could Be The Coldest Spring Yet in Duluth / Superior

Nick Stoltman TSM Duluth

We had a brutal winter.   It was bad, real bad.  Some of us foolishly hoped for a warm spring and a longer summer.   Now as we’ve been through most of June, we are still waiting for summer to begin.

You wear a winter jacket to a Huskies game

June 24th, 2014... We wore winter jackets, hat and mittens to a Duluth Huskies game.  It was 40 degrees and rainy.

It's 90 degress in Hibbing, and your furnance just kicked on.

A couple of weeks ago, I saw on Facebook that it was 90 degrees in hibbing.  It was 52 degrees in Superior, and my furnance kicked on.  It was like a slap in the face.

You still have a $100 heating bill for the month of June

My utilities bill came on Monday and my bill for gas heat was over $100.  Seriously.

4

It's almost July, and you have mowed your lawn twice

It has been so cold and cloudy that my grass won't grow.

5

You go to Cloquet for the warm weather.

"Hey, Hon... Let's go shopping in Cloquet today so we can get some sun..."

6

Trees are confused, and leaves are turning colors

We saw this yesterday... A maple tree's leaves were changing colors.

A heating and cooling plumber is working across the street, and you have to ask what for?

Our neighbor must have had a problem and called a heating and cooling specialist.   We didn't know if he was getting his furnace fixed in June, or getting his A/C ready for summer.  (It was 60 degrees that day.)
