With the TV zombie phenomenon of 'The Walking Dead,' 'Fear The Walking Dead,' and countless movies highlighting the zombie apocalypse, you start to wonder what you would do in that situation.   What would we do, as residents of the Twin Ports, if a zombie apocalypse began here.   Here's some places I immediately thought of that you could fortify to ride it out.

    Sky Harbor Airport

Let's think about this for a moment.  First, Park Point would be a decent place to start, because if you raise the lift bridge, zombies wouldn't be able to cross.  It's essentially and island at that point, which we all know is a good place to camp out.  The problem that you would run into though, is that there is a lot of people on park point, and some may already be infected.  In this case, you would need an area you could secure.  The airport would be the best option.  You have open area around so you could see them coming.  Also you have access to an air strip in case there is a chance of evacuation.

    William A Irvin

If you board the Irvin, ditch the stairs leading into the boat, you have an immediate fortress.  Also, ships are made to be secure.  You could literally batten down the hatches and ride the zombie storm out.

    Superior Menards

Why Menards?  Here's a place that already has a fenced in area.  It has an array of supplies that would come in handy.  There's everything from soup to nuts to eat.  The Superior Menards would be better than Hermantown or West Duluth because it has more of a buffer zone than the general population.   And once again, this location is near an airport for evacuation.

Super One's Already Fortified Warehouse in West Duluth

If you've been by 39th Avenue West, you've probably seen this massive structure with 40 foot high walls.  I actually blogged about this before, and I was sure they were preparing for something.   Impenetrable walls along with months worth of food would make this place a no-brainer.  (Pun intended.)

    148th National Guard Airbase

In reality, this would most likely be the place to go.  If the government were going to try and make a safe camp, this would be it.  But, the real question would be if you trusted the government in this situation, or would you be better off on your own?
