2018 CMA Award Nominations Released: Reaction, Surprises & Snubs

Nominations for the 2018 CMA Awards were unveiled Tuesday morning. Sugarland, Dan & Shay and Luke Bryan revealed the list of nominees live from Bryan's new bar in Nashville.

Many country stars had a great morning: Dan & Shay scored in some of the biggest categories for the first time ever. Kacey Musgraves made a big comeback and unsurprisingly, Jason Aldean and Miranda Lambert snagged a bunch of nominations for their recent #1 hit, Drowns The Whiskey. 

As with every award show, there were some head-scratching moments when the list was revealed. There were many who were 'snubbed' or left out of major categories that were thought to be a lock and there are a few artists that popped up on the list that many weren't putting their money on.

One thing is for sure - it's going to be a great and exciting night when the awards air on ABC November 14th.

I decided to weigh in and give a few of my thoughts on the major categories, including who I think will win. I will circle back in a few months and see if I have changed my mind but for now, my thoughts and predictions are in the video above.
