Hockey Day Minnesota's 10th installment, being held at Bayfront Festival Park in Duluth, is officially under 100 days away. Marking the occasion, representatives from Duluth East High School, Duluth Denfeld High School, the Minnesota Wild, FOX Sports North, the planning committee, and sponsor organizations gathered for a flag raising ceremony to discuss the progress in planning and raise excitement for the event.

Today's ceremony included presentations of special banners for both Duluth East and Duluth Denfeld, as well as the raising of the flag to mark the official countdown from 100 days down to Hockey Day Minnesota 2016. See highlights of the presentations and the flag raising in the video.

The day will start with a live broadcast on FOX Sports North at 9 am on Saturday, February 6, 2016. It was announced at today's flag raising ceremony that for the first time ever, the entire Hockey Day coverage will be anchored from Duluth, rather than the Xcel Energy Center, as it has been in years past.

The first game of the day will feature Duluth Denfeld hosting Section 7A rival Eveleth-Gilbert at 10 am. Game 2 will feature a rematch of the 2015 Class AA Championship as Duluth East hosts Lakeville North at 1 pm. On the college level, the Minnesota Golden Gophers vs. Penn State matchup will be featured from Mariucci Arena at 4 pm, followed by the Minnesota Wild closing out the evening in a road match agains the St. Louis Blues at 7 pm.

It was also announced that tickets are on sale now for Hockey Day Minnesota 2016. Tickets can be purchased from wild.com/hockeyday, and proceeds from the event will benefit Duluth area youth hockey programs.

Fans will also be able to participate in a new contest on Twitter, using the hashtag #HDM2016. Fans are encouraged to share photos of their favorite hockey day moments through the years of this annual tradition. With multiple prizes, the grand prize winner will win a two night stay at the Inn on Superior the weekend of Hockey Day 2016 and 4 tickets to the festivities at Bayfront.
